Coming to you courtesy of the Alaska Aviation Museum, this camera looks east toward Lake Spenard, providing us with a first-class view of floatplane activity in the busiest seaplane base in the world with more than 87,000 takeoffs and landings per year.  There is a plane parking area in the foreground and the waterway in the middle is the landing channel connecting Lake Hood to Lake Spenard.  The channel in the foreground is the high-speed taxiway and the channel in the background is the low-speed taxiway.  You can see even more planes parked in the background to the left.  The Chugach Mountain Range beautifully frames the scene for us in the far background.

The Alaska Aviation Museum is located on the south shore of Lake Hood and presents one of the finest displays of Alaskan aviation history with many interactive displays, memorabilia, photographs, films and artifacts from personal collections of Alaska's pioneer aviators.
