Eagle River, Alaska | ||||
This camera is located above Eagle River, Alaska, near the base of Mount Baldy. The camera looks to the southwest across downtown Eagle River, JBER and the rest of the Anchorage Bowl. Turnagain Arm (left) and Knik Arm (right) separate Anchorage from the Kenai Peninsula (middle left) and Point Mackenzie in the Susitna Valley (middle right). On a clear day, the Alaska Range is visible in the distance on the right side of the image, some 80 miles away. Fire Island is visible near the middle of the image, off the coast of Anchorage, with the rest of Cook Inlet looming behind. Click HERE for a reference image with landmarks. A special shout out to Andrew at the NOAA for providing the description for this camera and the reference image.
